AAI GM Tournament , New Delhi Round 3

Laznicka's defeat helped Italian GM Fabiana Caruana enjoy sole lead with three points. Caruana scored an impressive win over Hou Yifan, the Chinese women's world champion's third successive defeat in the competition. Laznicka remained on two points and in second position.

Sasikiran today played with white, a dynamic chess. The game began with Queen's Gambit Declined. After the middle game there was exchanges and a outside passed pawn. Sasikiran was an exchange down  but had enought ammunition in queen and bishop posing multiple threats. Laznicka had to give back the exchanges loss to avoid mating attack. Sasi nursed his Queenide passer with his Queen and won Laznicka's Queen with rook to pocketed a point after 72 moves. This was Sasikiran's first victory in the tournament.

In the eagerly-awaited clash between Asian talents,Parmarjan Negi and Wesely So, the former held his own in a Sicilian Defence game and split the point in a rook and opposite-coloured bishop ending after 30 moves. So and Negi have 1.5 points each.
